She wants to prioritize her family over the game because she is supposed to be with her sister on her wedding day. Tony wants her to go so that she can be happy and not have to let her team down. Jess is trying to prioritize rules (staying with her family because of tradition) over the relationship of her team. Tony wants her to do the opposite. -

A short conversation between Killmonger and the head of a museum highlighting the differences between how cultures remember history. Killmonger calls out the head of the museum for what people have stolen from the Wakandans, and she reacts nervously. This highlights ethnic struggles than can occur because of past hurts. -

Insulting the family with rude remarks about their music and food, Madam Mallory uses direct communication to express her anger and frustration with the families refusal to be like a ‘normal person.’ Papa responds by turning up the volume of the music with a stubborn look on his face. -

Belle - Status and Context
The story starts off when Dido is taken back to England to live with her uncle. Upon her arrival her uncle and aunt are surprised at the color of her skin. She is black. Because of this, her uncle explains that it will be impossible to raise her status even though they themselves are one of the most respects families in England. -

As one who wants to make things right, Hassan comes to apologize on his Father’s behalf and bring a tray of specially prepared pigeon hoping that the staff will approve and accept him. Madam Mallory tastes it, leaving the favor to linger in her mouth- she knows it’s the best- but then throws the dish in the garbage not revealing her true thoughts. -
Black Panther - Culture Clash
Killmonger and T’challa were both born royal Wakandans, but there is a clear difference in how they hold themselves. They act differently, speak with different accents, and have different approaches to how to handle the room. Their environment and experiences has driven them to be two starkly different individuals. T’challa has embraced Wakandan culture while Erik scoffs at parts of it.
